Inclusion & Wellbeing
Inclusion
We are committed to creating a welcoming and supportive training environment where every trainee feels valued and able to succeed. We believe that diversity makes our profession stronger and enriches the learning experiences of the children and communities we serve.
All trainees on our programme are students of the University of Winchester. We work closely with the University and our placement schools to ensure that inclusion is at the heart of your training. You’ll be supported by both a school-based mentor and a University tutor, who work together to give you a joined-up and personalised experience.
We welcome trainees from all backgrounds and are dedicated to removing barriers to success and aim to create an environment where differences are recognised and celebrated. If you need any reasonable adjustments to support your learning or placements, we’ll work with you to make sure you can achieve your best and meet the Teachers’ Standards.
We encourage you to share any support needs during the interview process so we can put the right support in place from the very start. Our goal is to ensure every trainee feels safe, supported, and confident to succeed.
Wellbeing
Your well-being is a top priority and we will do all we can to give you the chance to flourish and maximise your potential. In partnership with the University of Winchester there is a dedicated student support team to help with any questions or challenges you might experience during your studies.
We work with you to support your well-being and mental health, provide confidential advice and offer workshops to boost your academic skills. If you have a disability or learning difference, we encourage you to get in touch before you apply so we can discuss tailored support for your individual needs.
